We are delighted to announce that the 2024 CAPA annual conference will be held in Wuhan University in China on May 31st-June 2nd, 2024. We would extend our welcome to members and friends to this fantastic event. 

Join Us for the 2023 CAPA Winter Symposium at University of South Florida, Tampa

Dear CAPA Members,

 

We are delighted to invite you to the 2023 CAPA Winter Symposium that will be held on the beautiful campus of University of South Florida in Tampa. This year’s symposium is scheduled for December 20th, 203. We have a lineup of 16 outstanding speakers whose research delves into three main areas of chemistry: Polymer & Material Science, Chemical Biology, and Organic Synthesis. 

The tentative meeting agenda, venue details, and accommodation options are enclosed for your use. We encourage all CAPA members to seize this opportunity to engage with peers and enjoy the holiday time in the Sunshine State. As a tradition, the symposium will conclude with a celebratory banquet that is complimentary for our members.

Congratulations to 2014 CAPA Biomatic Award Winners

Dear CAPA Members and Friends,

      I would like to represent CAPA to announce 2014 CAPA Biomatik Award winners:

      (1)CAPA Biomatik Distinguished Junior Faculty Award (USA): Prof.  from Department of Chemistry of University of Texas at Austin, and Prof.  from Department of Chemistry at Pennsylvania State University.

      (2)CAPA Biomatik Distinguished Faculty Award (USA): Prof.  from Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The Ohio State University, and Prof.  from Department of Chemistry at University of Florida.

      (3)CAPA Biomatik Distinguished Faculty Award (China): Prof.  from College of Chemistry at Peking University, and Prof. 

The award committees received a large number of nominations and each award winner was chosen from a pool of outstanding candidates. CAPA dinner gathering in Dallas on March 17, 2014

CAPA has just organized and co-sponsored a successful and exciting CAPA dinner gathering in Dallas on March 17 during the 2014 Spring ACS National Meeting. About 32 CAPA members and friends showed up for the dinner. In the near future, CAPA will organize and sponsor more activities including a CAPA dinner gathering during the ACS National Meeting in the fall of 2014 in San Francisco.

Several  dinner attendees have asked how to pay for CAPA membership fees. The membership fee and application information can be found online. For application, please mail both a check and a filled membership application form to Dr. Xiangming Guan (Xiangming.Guan@SDSTATE.EDU). To support CAPA and participate in its various activities, you are encouraged to become a life-time member. 

We would like to thank our dinner co-sponsor: Lab Scientific Group/ Welch Material. They manufacture and sell high quality HPLC columns and accessories. Laboratories of many CAPA members have been using their products for years. Please feel free to give a try on their products. They will give you a special discount, as long as you mention that you are a CAPA member. 

Lastly, CAPA wants to thank Dr. Zheng Huang of Georgia State University and other CAPA Dinner Gathering Committee members for their efforts to make this dinner gathering a great event.
